Severe ME Day Campaign

Did you know an estimated 25% of people with ME/CFS are so severely affected that they are house- or bed- bound?

Severe ME Day is an international recognition campaign which takes place on 8th August each year. The campaign began in 2013 by 25% ME Group in the UK and it honours the birthday of Sophie Mirza, who died of severe ME in 2005 at the age of 32. The aim of the campaign is to recognise people living with severe ME/CFS and acknowledge their defining impact on the ME/CFS community.

To mark the day, throughout August, we will be running a Severe ME campaign. To kick the campaign off, our friends at TOFU have created a beautiful card. The card symbolises the inclusiveness of our community, and the work we do to ensure no-one is forgotten.

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone you know to receive a card with a little note from the Emerge Australia team inside to mark Severe ME Day, please get in touch with us at information@emerge.org.au

What to include:
Your name (or the name of someone you’re nominating)
Your address (or the address of someone you’re nominating)

By nominating yourself or a friend to receive a card, you will also go into the draw to win one of ten packs of Energy Saving Cards, created by Ricky Buchanan a person living with severe ME/CFS.

The giveaway closes 31st August 2019 AEST. Winners will be drawn at random on 2nd September 2019 AEST and notified via email that week. Only open to Australian residents.
