Advocacy support for NDIS and DSP

Emerge Australia has heard from ME/CFS patients and advocacy groups that it can be quite difficult to get the necessary points required to be eligible for the Disability Support Pension (DSP) and/or the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Having your application rejected can be very disheartening, especially as people with ME/CFS often have experienced disbelief and stigma associated with the condition. So it is important to know before you begin the process that applying for the DSP/NDIS might take up a lot of emotional energy. Try to prepare yourself for the fact that you might have to go through a few appeals or apply a few times.

If you require advocacy or help with your DSP or NDIS application, such as understanding and completing forms, collecting the appropriate medical evidence, assessing the application success rate, support review process, and appealing rejections, the following advocacy organisations can provide these services.

Advocacy organisations supporting DSP applications and appeals

Advocacy organisations supporting NDIS applications and appeals

Organisations helping with filling out forms

Please note that our volunteers are working hard to update the website to include advocacy organisations for every state and territory in Australia. This process takes time but we will add these as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience.
