Hello to all our supporters and readers of the Emerge Australia newsletter!
As World ME Day is around the corner we are excited to provide information on what we have been up to since our last newsletter. Check out details on our theme Stop. Rest. Pace. and our 2024 campaign.
On Thursday 9 May we met with Health Minister Mark Butler and presented him with our report: Shining a light on Recommendation 8. Attended by ME/CFS community representatives, Emerge Australia Chair and Chair of Open Medicine Foundation as well as members of our Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee, we were encouraged by the Minister’s response to all matters raised. We will let you know of any further developments emanating from this critical meeting when we know more.
We are delighted to have partnered with Carer Gateway to promote the excellent range of packages they have available to support carers in Victoria. This particular partnership is only for those in Victoria however we are pursuing opportunities in other states and will let you know more as soon as we have more information. All carers can access our Carers’ Hub here.
As part of our World ME Day activities Blue Sunday is coming up on 19 May. This is a great opportunity to host a Blue morning or afternoon tea while raising much needed funds for Emerge Australia services. Why not encourage others to host an event by sending out details to your email contacts. Take photos and send them in to us and we will publish them in our next newsletter. Our new clinical education program, supported by an unrestricted educational grant from Moderna, commences next week. Three new modules have been accredited by RACGP and will be delivered to clinicians nationally via webinar in the coming months.
