Hello to all our supporters and readers of the Emerge Australia newsletter!
In our final newsletter for the year, I want to first and foremost take this opportunity to thank everyone who has so loyally supported us in every way throughout this calendar year.
To all our community donors, our major donors, philanthropic partners, corporate partners and fabulous volunteers, thank you for working with us to support our ME/CFS, long COVID and energy limiting disease community.
Thank you to members of our Medical & Scientific Advisory Committee and of course Emerge Australia’s Board members and exemplary staff for all you do and for the quality of your advice and work.
In 2025, we made real progress through our collaborations, especially through our ME/CFS Alliance Australia in speaking with one voice pre-election. Our work on the Neurological Alliance of Australia has led to meetings with Ministers, Advisors and inclusion in the Neurological Blue Print for Australia. Likewise in working with the Australian Patients Advocacy Alliance. This work will deliver positive outcomes in the coming year.
We collaborated with various bodies, including the Patient Health Networks (PHNs), professional societies and of course the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) on new ME/CFS clinical guidelines, among others.
Nothing that Emerge Australia achieves happens without your support. We represent your voice to Governments, Ministers, media and other organisations, while keeping you informed of developments as they occur.
2026 promises to be another big year in which we build on our recent achievements and ensure delivery of our priorities across Clinical Education, Advocacy and Health Policy, Biomedical Research and Patient and Support Services.
As we close out this year, if you haven’t already done so, I urge you to please support our Christmas Appeal. We rely on the success of our appeals to raise the necessary funds required to deliver our priority services. Every cent raised goes directly to underpin our services.
Finally, Emerge Australia’s Christmas shut down commences on 19 December 2025 and we will be back at work from 5 January 2026. During this period, our Support and Telehealth Service will not be operating. Should you require emergency medical care dial 000 or go to your nearest Emergency Department or Emergency Care Clinic.
