Care Service Pathway (CSP)
Location: South Australia
Description: To be eligible for the ENU, individuals and families need to have:
- multiple complex needs across multiple life domains that are not being met by mainstream services; these may include mental or physical health needs, homelessness, offending histories, family challenges, social isolation, or disability etc.
- multiple risk factors to self, others, and community that are not being well managed by existing services.
- exceptional responsivity factors – evidence that services have been attempted, referrals and escalations have been made, or that services/systems are not working in collaboration. Other examples could include: • engagement issues
- location
- service gaps
- gaps in criteria
- systems/service trauma
- language/cultural issues
- lack of collaboration/communication between services
Responsivity is considered the most critical element whilst assessing ENU eligibility. The ENU ensures all attempts and escalations have been made for a mainstream service response to meet complex needs and risk factors before accepting a referral.
